The end of March and we are back at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham for the Classic Car & Restoration Show.

On Thursday 23rd we arrived on site at the NEC Birmingham. After negotiating the traffic control system, we found ourselves at the rear doors to Hall 4 and at 8am we were allowed to drive into the hall.

Our stand was made much easier because we had had ordered a carpet and were under a protector.

I soon found my home for the next three days of selling at Stand AJ174.

Friday 24th was a busy day, we sold a good mixed selection of enamel signs, one being The “GULF” acrylic sign that originated from near Brighton. After Friday was wrapped up, it was a short journey back to overnight hotel for dinner and an early night.

Saturday was not as busy as Friday, but we did sell some nice enamel, a couple of tin and one of the small acrylic VW signs and met some very interesting and nice people along the way. Fuzz Townsend raced past my stand, taking time out to have a few selfies with some of his fans.

Sunday is always the less busy of the 3 day shows. We did move on a couple of enamel signs, and the remaining of the smaller VW acrylic signs.

At 5pm the show closed, and the mad rush to clear the stand, load the van, and avoid the traffic caused by people queuing to see Elton John who was playing at Resorts World Arena on Sunday night, as part of his final final World Tour.

I hoped that you managed to visit our stand, perhaps purchase something and we look forward to seeing you all again at the Classic Car Show in November.

Have a good summer, thank you to Jim @ Abrasive Solutions for the inspiration and the endless mugs of tea and to Helen in the organisers office, and to my Grandson Tyreke Martin for his help with the breakdown.
